In August 2016, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) in Singapore published the amendment of the second schedule of Environmental Protection and Management Act (known as Singapore RoHS or SG RoHS). The amendment is adapted from EU RoHS 2 and will restrict 6 hazardous substances in some electrical and electronic equipments (EEE) from 1 July 2017. [Source: ChemicalWatch news].
SG RoHS only applies to the following 6 types of electronic and electrical products (excluding spare parts and components which are sold separately).
Other types of electrical and electronic products such as industrial use equipment, medical devices and microwaves are excluded from SG RoHS.
Singapore RoHS restricts the same 6 hazardous substances as EU RoHS 2 except for phthalates. Detailed concentration limits are listed as below.

Under EU RoHS 2, certain applications and products are exempt from above restriction limits (For example, Cadmium in helium-cadmium lasers). Singapore RoHS plans to harmonize the full list of EU-RoHS exemptions with the exemption list under SG-RoHS.
Before the sale of the affected product in Singapore, each local manufacturer or importer(trader) is required to submit a declaration of conformity for the controlled EEE to the National Environmental Agency (NEA). A technical file also needs to be prepared and kept in accordance with EU BS EN 50581:2012 technical documentation for the assessment of electrical and electronic products with respect to the restriction of hazardous substances or equivalent standard.
If the company manufactures RoHS non-compliant products in Singapore, these products would not be allowed for local sale. The company would have to apply for a hazardous substance license from NEA to export these products.
