The European Commission has notified 12 substances of very high concern (SVHCs) to be added to the REACH authorization list to the WTO. Those substances will not be allowed to be placed on the market or used in the EU after a given date ("sunset date"), unless an authorization is granted for their specific use, or the use is exempted from authorization. In this article, we will give you a preview of what those 12 substances are, their potential uses and concerns.
